Looks like San Diego County is going to get hit with a fun little swell this coming weekend...5 Foot waves hitting through North County SD and South County SD and SC also getting some good waves...

I'm hungrily awaiting this end of June Gloom...it makes things feel a bit hung in purgatory as the sun hits its Zenith and we are stuck in this offshore waiting game. An inversion in the making. Could be worse...it could be Texas...(no surf, crazy heat...etc)

A Summer Time Ode to Lowers...

4 many people the Hwy 101 vibe of Lowers is enough to shake them off, but if you look for the hack off the wall Mr. Sl8r pulls 47 seconds in & how playful those waves look; you can see why people keep coming to Southern California's favorite H20-park ;-)...it's a study in patience, wake up early or stay out late enough, and that rouge wave comes your way to make you forget all the effort it took to get slotted...

With the Trestles pro coming My 3rd-7th @ Trestles, it's a good time of year to get reacquainted with Southern California's most consistent, high performing, forgiving wave... :) Here's to hoping this year brings good conditions for the visiting pros!

Firewire - 6'10'' Step-up Hellfire

Rode it yesterday, will give you more data as I take it out in different conditions, the double concave makes it ride more like a traditional thruster, still a little wider for better paddle, the flex on it is in insane (it's a Rapidfire), this is the higher performing model from the Dominator and Spitfire.

Yesterday riding it slightly south of Swamis, performed very well in minimal 2-3 foot wind swell...good shape but not a lot of power.

Was able to generate quite a bit of speed and not bad given the +215 lbs...and 5'10'' frame
